These terms apply when you use the Professional Development Dashboard ("the service"), a product of CapabilityDelta™. By completing an assessment or creating an account you agree to them.
The Professional Development Dashboard lets you rate your current and target level on nine subcomponents, shows the gap between them, and helps you turn gaps into SMART goals. It is a practitioner-developed model aligned with established research in competency modeling, goal-setting theory and workforce analytics.
The results are your own self-ratings. They are a tool for planning your development, not a certification, a performance appraisal or professional career advice, and they do not guarantee any outcome such as a job, a promotion or a qualification.
You can complete an assessment and see your results without registering. Those ratings stay in your browser and are not saved to our servers unless you later log in to an account.
If you join a group (a team, class or programme) with a group code, your results are included in that group's averages. The group's admin can see who has joined (name and date joined) and the group's averages, never your scores next to your name, and no averages are shown until at least five members have completed an assessment. A SMART goal is shared with a group only if you choose to share that goal.
If you run a group, you agree to use its figures to support your members' development and not to try to work out an individual member's ratings or goals.
Registered users can ask for recommendations written by an AI model. They are generated automatically from your role details and ratings, may be incomplete or wrong, and are suggestions to consider, not instructions. Check anything important before acting on it. The Privacy Policy explains what is sent to the AI provider.
Recommended resources are chosen from a list we keep, which includes the PDD creator's own books, courses and newsletter and some affiliate links; these are labelled where they appear. Other sites are not ours, and their own terms apply.
You agree not to:
We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Your ratings, goals and profile details remain yours. You allow us to store and process them to provide the service to you as described in the Privacy Policy.

The service is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, and features may change. You can download a report of your own assessment while it is available to your account.
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the service after a change, the updated terms apply.

This policy explains what CapabilityDelta™ collects when you use the Professional Development Dashboard, what it is used for and who can see it.
You can complete an assessment without registering. Your ratings are kept in your own browser's storage on your device. They are not sent to or stored on our servers unless you log in to an account, at which point they are saved to that account.
When you ask for AI recommendations on an assessment, your current role, employer or university, target job and your ratings are sent to our AI provider, currently Groq, to write them. Your name and email address are not sent. The result is saved to your account so it does not have to be generated again.
When a group's admin asks for recommendations for a group, the group's name, organization and averages are sent, together with the text of goals that members chose to share (only once three members have shared). Members' names are not sent.
Recommendations may suggest books, courses, news sources and communities, chosen from a list we keep; links come from that list, not from the AI. Some are the work of Daniel Stanton, who created the Professional Development Dashboard, and are labelled "By the creator of the PDD". Links labelled "Affiliate link" go to Amazon: as an Amazon Associate, Supply Chained earns from qualifying purchases. Following a link takes you to that site, whose own privacy policy applies.
We email you to confirm your address, to reset your password when asked, to tell you when your password or email address is changed or a change of address is asked for, and to send your own report when you ask for it. A report is sent only to the address on your account.
We may update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
